A plain-English tour of how Coinpath works — set up your household, organize your money, and use the AI planner with confidence.

Getting started

Create an account, choose your language, and add your first account. The onboarding wizard walks you through naming your household, picking starter categories, and connecting (or manually adding) the accounts you want to track.

  • Sign up with email or Google
  • Pick English (en-US) or Spanish (es-419) — change it anytime
  • Add at least one checking, savings, or credit account
  • Invite your partner or family members from settings

Shared household views

Tag every account and transaction as mine, theirs, or ours. A single household pill at the top filters the whole app, so couples and families share one budget without losing individual privacy.

  • Mine / Theirs / Ours ownership on every account
  • Per-member language preference
  • Admin, co-manager, viewer, and teen roles
  • Per-member notification settings

Organizing transactions

Transactions land in an inbox you can categorize quickly. Use splits to divide a single charge across categories, and rules to auto-categorize future activity from the same merchant.

  • Split a single transaction across categories or people
  • Auto-categorization rules per merchant or amount
  • Merchant logos and watchlists for subscriptions you want to track
  • Bulk edit, tag, and reassign with keyboard shortcuts

Zero-based budgeting

Give every dollar a job. Budget categories roll over month to month, and you can drag money between buckets when life changes. The assistant flags when your plan isn't realistic for your income.

  • Rollover envelope categories
  • Drag money between buckets mid-month
  • Sinking funds for irregular bills and gifts
  • 50/30/20 and custom budget templates

AI Financial Advisor

A private AI advisor grounded in your real numbers. Ask for a debt payoff plan, a zero-based budget, or an emergency fund ladder — and export the result to PDF, Word, or Excel.

  • Avalanche or snowball debt payoff schedules
  • Emergency-fund and goal ladders
  • Token-metered and plan-aware
  • Information, not advice — consult a licensed professional for tax and investment decisions

Privacy & security

Your data lives behind row-level security and is encrypted in transit and at rest. You can export everything or delete your account at any time from settings.

  • Row-level security on every row
  • OAuth tokens never leave the server
  • Full export to JSON, CSV, and PDF
  • One-click account deletion with a 90-day grace window
