Connect, import or track manually — and how to switch later

Three ways to get accounts into Coinpath, what each one costs you in effort, and why starting manual never traps you.

Coinpath does not require a bank connection to be useful on day one. You can add an account by hand in under a minute, import a statement, or connect an institution through a secure aggregator — and move between those options later without losing history.

Manual accounts: fastest start

Type a name, type a balance, done. Manual accounts count toward net worth, budgets and household labels exactly like connected ones. This is the right choice for a mortgage, a car loan, a property or an account at an institution that is not supported yet.

Imports: bring your history

CSV and OFX imports accept exports from most banks and from other budgeting apps. Categories are matched during import and anything ambiguous lands in the To-review queue rather than being silently guessed.

Connections: no more weekly copying

A connected institution refreshes balances and transactions on its own. Aggregator credentials live only on the server and are never sent to the browser; the app receives data, never tokens.

Migrating without starting over

When you connect an institution you already tracked manually, Coinpath links the new feed to the existing account instead of creating a duplicate. Your months of manual history stay in the same trend line, and freshness indicators show at a glance which accounts have gone stale.
